Success for Koicenter Tiel at the NVN Koi Show

Received a mail from Joachim at Koicenter Tiel advising that they'd picked up 14 prizes at last weekend's NVN Koi Show in Arcen, amongst them Adult Champion with the Ginrin Showa pictured below.

This Koi was purchased here in Niigata by Joachim from Marusaka Koi Farm 18 months ago and has been grown on in Holland since then.

As always the NVN Show had judges attending from Japan, this year one of whom was a gentleman called Yamada-san.  Word is that Yamada-san simply fell in love with this Ginrin Showa stating that he wished he could buy it and take it back to Japan to the All Japan Show and to breed from it, alas something that I understand is all but impossible but a sure endorsement of the quality of this Koi.

Ginrin Showa....

Stunning koi.....  beautiful body markings and  "butterfly like" motoguru !

Can you see it improving any ?

Size

 Sandy

I'm not sure of the exact size at present, I think fair to say that in terms of quality what you see is what it will ultimately deliver.  The hope has to be that it can grow, develop it's body, and at the same time retain its other qualities.  At least that's my feeling.

In Kokugyo 1 Kodama declares

In Kokugyo 1 Kodama declares another gin rin showa to be the best koi ever.  Joachim's showa is cast from that same mold.  This showa is so good now it is hard to imagine that it will improve with age, but if it does I expect we'll be seeing more pictures of it over time.

Ginrin Showa

Don't have a copy of Kokugyo with me here in Japan.

Is that the Shinoda Ginrin Showa that Kodama refers to, the one that was GC at the Nogyosai?
