Some Wakagoi GC contenders

I think working out the Grand Champion, or at least the top few contenders, at the All Japan Show is relatively straight forward.

The Wakagoi Show is rather different.  There are more Koi that are in the game that the All Japan Show.

Anyway, here are a few of my tips for Koi that might figure tomorrow, apologies for the pics, as mentioned previously it was a challenging day for photos.

I really rather like this Kohaku, it's the one being released in the pic in the previous post.  I find the pattern really appealing and the quality is right up there.  Maybe my number 2 choice.

This Ueno Showa is probably my favourite Showa in 63bu.  I doubt it will take GC, I wouldn't be surprised to see it in the top 5 though.  I have to say, I'm taking a real shine to Ueno Showa!

This could be a story on 2 counts.  1 it is Yamatoya, breeder of the 2009 All Japan GC Showa.  2 it is owned by an English customer of Mike Snaden (Yume Koi).  Expect the Bekko will take best in variety.  I could write a whole post of Bekko jokes that spawned this afternoon between myself, Mike and Darren from A4Koi.

This Kohaku is my favourite for GC, not necessarily my personal favourite Koi at the show but that which I think will probably take GC.

This Sanke has superb Shiroji!

Given my proximity to the show ground I shall try and get details of GC posted as soon as they are known.  Probably by 11am Japan time.
